Countrywide we obtain about half of our electricity from coal, with Pennsylvania being a top 5 consumer of natural resources. This being apparent, environmental problems such as; acid rain, mercury poisoning, carbon and sulfur dioxide pollution, and mis-management of waste, will damage air quality and destroy the existing environment that many residents call home. Coal power is killing the world's most beautiful landscapes and animal species. Our planet will invest in alternative energy eventually, once finally understanding the grand scheme of humans' negative involvement in destroying our natural ecosystem.
